Escallonia Good as Gold

I first started breeding Escallonia in 1991and in 1999 I successfully marketed two Escallonia ‘Everest’ and Escallonia Red Carpet.

Ten years later, Neil Alcock of Seiont Nursery in Wales found a golden shoot on  Escallonia Red Carpet and this was launched as Escallonia Golden Carpet.

This inspired me to set up a new breeding programme out of which came Escallonia ‘Good as Gold’.

This plant is totally different from any other gold Escallonia and it will be the first of a new series of Escallonia that I aim to introduce.
