From Mico’s Green Paradise

Dear Peter,

Thank you so much for your warm and personal reply. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write to me and offering to check with Jason about Harrinora.

Regarding Royal Lace, I must admit that I find it a little difficult to sell, although I do sell a few plants. Personally, I think it is a magnificent variety.

I would also like to share something that comes from the heart: I am a huge admirer of your work. Your creations are a true source of inspiration to me and have greatly contributed to my passion for Choisya.

It would be an immense honour for me to meet you in person one day, perhaps visit your garden and have the opportunity to talk with you about your plants, your creations and your experience.

My dream is to become, in my own way and on my own scale, for Choisya what you represent in the world of plant breeding. I say this with great humility, but also with genuine passion and enormous admiration for everything you have achieved.

I am also a passionate Choisya collector. My collection currently includes 16 different varieties, and my ambition is eventually to bring together all the botanical species of the genus Choisya, alongside the many existing cultivars.

Some of these botanical species are particularly difficult to find in Europe. If you happen to know of any specialist nurseries, private collectors, botanical gardens or other contacts who might have these species, I would be extremely grateful for any leads you could share with me.

My goal is not only to produce Choisya commercially, but also to establish a genuine reference collection, help preserve their diversity and introduce more people to this wonderful and still relatively little-known genus.

I would also like to share something rather special with you. I have written a small book dedicated to Choisya, entitled Mon ami Choisya (My Friend Choisya), which is currently being printed.

In this book, I have included a short passage about you and your remarkable contribution to the world of Choisya.

If you would like, I would be delighted to send you a copy of the manuscript so that you can read what I have written about you. Your opinion would mean a great deal to me, and above all, I would like to make sure that you are comfortable with me mentioning you in my book.

Thank you once again, Peter, for your exceptional work and for all the pleasure your creations bring to enthusiasts like myself.

With my warmest regards and sincere admiration,

Nicolas Bonnet
